The Best Boy Electric Role
The Best Boy Electric is the gaffer's second in command and the practical manager of the electrical department. They run the crew, manage the lighting truck and inventory, handle orders and returns, coordinate power distribution and generators, and keep the department's paperwork straight. While the gaffer works with the DP on how a scene is lit, the best boy makes sure the equipment, people and power are where they need to be for that to be possible.
