Direction
Assistant Director (AD)
The set's general. Manages the shooting schedule, coordinates departments, and keeps production on track.
Director
The creative lead. Responsible for what the film is — performance, tone, and every choice that reaches the screen.
2nd Assistant Director
Prepares call sheets, moves cast through the day, and runs the AD department away from the floor.
Script Supervisor
Tracks continuity across every take and setup, and produces the notes the editor works from.
Casting Director
Finds and auditions performers, and negotiates the deals that put them on the call sheet.
Camera
Cinematographer / DP
The visual storyteller. Shapes every frame through lighting, lens choice, and camera movement.
Camera Operator
Operates the camera and holds the frame, executing the shot the DP and director designed.
Focus Puller / 1st AC
Pulls focus during takes and runs the camera department's technical operation. Precision under pressure.
Clapper Loader / 2nd AC
Slates every take, manages media, and keeps the camera report that post depends on.
DIT (Digital Imaging Technician)
Guards the footage. Manages data, monitors exposure and colour, and gets media safely to post.
Steadicam Operator
Delivers smooth moving camera without track. A specialist skill with its own physical demands.
Lighting
Gaffer / Chief Lighting Technician
The light master. Executes the DP's vision by designing and rigging lighting setups on set.
Best Boy Electric
The gaffer's second. Runs the electrical crew, the truck, and the paperwork behind the lighting.
Key Grip
Heads the grip department. Shapes and blocks light, and builds everything that holds or moves the camera.
Dolly Grip
Operates the dolly. A move that lands on the beat is a performance in itself.
Sound
Sound Designer / Mixer
The sonic architect. Creates the immersive audio world that audiences feel but rarely notice.
Production Sound Mixer
Heads sound on set. Captures the dialogue the whole film depends on, once, while it happens.
Boom Operator
Positions the microphone. Close enough for clean dialogue, never in frame, every take.
Foley Artist
Performs everyday sound in sync with picture. Footsteps, cloth, handling — the texture nobody notices.
Art & Production Design
Production Designer
The world builder. Designs and creates the physical environments where the story unfolds.
Art Director
Executes the production designer's vision and runs the art department day to day.
Set Decorator
Dresses the set. Everything within a space that isn't structural and isn't handled by an actor.
Props Master
Owns everything a performer touches. Hero props, doubles, continuity and the thing nobody remembered.
Storyboard Artist
Draws the film before it exists. Turns the director's intent into frames the crew can plan from.
Post-Production
Film Editor
The invisible storyteller. Shapes raw footage into compelling narrative through rhythm, pacing, and emotion.
Colorist
The mood painter. Transforms raw footage into the final visual tone through color grading.
Sound Editor
Builds the soundtrack from dialogue, effects and atmosphere before it reaches the mix.
Post-Production Supervisor
Runs post. Owns the schedule, the budget and the deliverables list from wrap to delivery.
Production Management
Line Producer
The budget guardian. Manages the production's finances and logistics from pre-production through wrap.
Producer
Responsible for the production existing at all — finance, rights, hiring and delivery.
Production Manager
Runs the production office. Contracts, logistics, permits and the daily machinery of making it happen.
Location Manager
Finds, secures and runs locations — and handles everyone who lives next to one.
Costume & Makeup
Costume Designer
Designs what every character wears, and what that clothing says before they speak.
Makeup Artist
Prepares performers for camera and creates every look, from natural to prosthetic.
Hair Stylist
Creates and maintains every character's hair, including period, wigs and continuity across months.
VFX & Animation
VFX Artist / Supervisor
The digital illusionist. Creates visual effects that seamlessly blend with live-action footage.
VFX Supervisor
Owns visual effects from set to delivery. Makes sure plates are shot right the first time.
Compositor
Combines every element into a single believable image. The last person to touch a VFX shot.
