Crew or production — which account do I need?

At signup you choose between Looking for Work and Hiring Crew. That choice sets your account type, and it is worth understanding what it does and — more importantly — what it does not.

What it decides

Your account type shapes what the app leads with. A crew account gets a Crew Card, Scout visibility and crew calls to apply to. A production account gets a Production House and the tools to post work and hire.

What it does not decide

It does not lock you out of the production tools. Access to projects — scripts, breakdown, scheduling, call sheets, budgets — comes from being a member of a Production House, not from your account type.

So a director who signed up as crew can still run a production: create a Production House, or be invited into someone else's, and the project tools open up. This matters because creating a director profile actually requires a crew account, so the two are not opposites.

You cannot change it yourself

There is no switch in settings. The account type is set once at signup and only an administrator can change it afterwards.

In practice this matters less than it sounds, because of the rule above — if you picked the "wrong" one, joining or creating a Production House gets you the tools you were after. If you genuinely need it changed, contact support.

• Mostly looking for work → crew
• Mostly hiring → production
• Both → pick either, then create or join a Production House
