How ScenePaper decides who is real

A hiring platform is only worth anything if the people on it are real. Here is what actually stands behind a profile — and, just as usefully, what does not.

Gate Check

No Crew Card or Production House goes public without a human reviewing it. The reviewer sees the claim and the evidence side by side: stated experience level, the statement of intent, credits split by whether they have been verified, portfolio pieces, guild memberships, showreel, and how old the account is.

Where the claim and the evidence disagree, the reviewer is shown a flag. Flags direct attention; they never reject anyone automatically. Plenty of real crew have thin profiles.

Verified credits

Anyone can type a credit. What matters is whether it has been confirmed, and a credit can be verified two ways:

- Production confirmed — a production house already on ScenePaper says yes, that person did that job - Evidence reviewed — documentation was checked

Credits can also carry vouches from people who were there. An unverified credit is not a lie; it is simply a claim nobody has stood behind yet.

Guilds and documents

Guild and union memberships can be recorded, and companies can submit registration documents for a verified badge. Both are checked rather than self-asserted.

Wrap reports

After a job, production and crew rate each other. Reports are only possible between people who genuinely worked the same job — the platform checks that before allowing one. That is what stops ratings being bought or traded.

The honest limits

None of this is a background check. Gate Check confirms that someone presents as a working professional with something behind them; it does not vet character, verify identity documents, or guarantee anyone's conduct on a set.
