Posting a Crew Call

Put out a job, reach the right crew, and start receiving submissions.

A Crew Call is how you hire. You describe the role and the shoot; the right crew find it in Scout and via Job Alerts, and submit.

Create the call

From My Crew Calls, tap Post a Call and fill in:

  • Project title and role (pick the department and role you're hiring).
  • Description — the work, the project, and what you're looking for.
  • Location and shoot dates.
  • Rate — day rate or project rate, and the amount.
  • Urgency — from *Open Call* to *Hot Set* for something urgent.
  • Slots — how many people you need.

Casting calls

If you're casting an actor, toggle Casting call and add the character details. You can require a self-tape so actors submit a reading.

Publish or save as draft

  • Publish (Now Casting) — the call goes live and starts accepting submissions immediately.
  • Save as Draft — keep it *In Development* until you're ready.

Manage the lifecycle

As things progress you can move a call through Now Casting → Crew Locked → Wrapped / In the Can, edit it, or duplicate it to post a similar role quickly.

Next: Reviewing submissions and booking crew.
